WRIToracle (pronounced just like "rhetorical"... get
the pun?) is our literary and arts journal and review.
All of the creative writing in WRIToracle
comes directly from our workshop after being reviewed
by the Writ community and peer editors. Our reviews
cover a broad range of topics to keep you updated on the creative world.
Take a look at the current issue of WRIToracle to see what all the rage is about.

Way back in the olden days (August 2003 - March 2004),
we published monthly issues of the WRIToracle using the
archaic system of email submissions and HTML pages.
Later, with the rise of new technologies, we redesigned
the site into an automated database and added a workshop.
In other words, writers could now upload their own work
and comment on each other's pieces.
Once the new system was chock full of talent, we resumed publishing
issues of the WRIToracle.
But of course there was a catch. We didn't have hundreds of computer-trained monkeys to
enter all the old writing, issues, and profile info into the new system (boy, wouldn't that have been nice?). So we left the "old"
WRIToracle alone, frozen in time on the Archives page, for your reading and historical pleasure.

Incredible poetry, lyrics, fiction, scripts, and
reflections swarm in this area. It's all fresh
and original—the
best of the workshop. Staff writers give you
reviews of everything important in life: books,
music albums, community event, and more. We also
provide monthly feature articles about a fabulous
writers and artists
who make our mouths water.

Yep. The true original Writ folk can be found
both in old WRIToracle and the new workshop system.
Unfortunately, we can't combine the two areas
until
someone
wants to volunteer 100 hours of data entry time (hint hint).
It's up to the writers to provide you with
links to their other stuff in their profiles.

You have to start by putting your poetry, lyrics,
fiction, reflections, and/or scripts in the workshop.
We
believe that all writing has room for improvement,
and the best way to
prepare for publication is to get feedback. When
you add your writing to the workshop, you also
have the opportunity to mark it as a submission
for WRIToracle (you MUST mark it as a submission
in
order to be considered). You can always come back
to your piece after you've received feedback to
mark it for submission. (Note: Click "My Writ" to
get started).
Once the community has had a chance to talk about your piece, a group of peer editors
will consider it for publication. We do receive far more submissions than we can publish each month, so
please don't get discouraged if your piece isn't chosen immediately. Keep writing and revising and you'll
have your chance to shine.
If you're interested in writing feature or review articles for the
WRIToracle, well, that's another story. Email your ideas
to our Editor-in-Chief, Juli‡n Esteban Torres, at julian@thewrit.org.
He'll let you know what we need.
