"Poetry helps me to exhale..."

Poetry
Alive

Alive

As this snow covered velvet cushions my path,
I begin
to walk a little fast through these woods
of endless branches,
reaching out like a mother's arms.

As they sway back and forth
in their fallen snow,
I feel I must mimic
their actions and lie on back.
Like their free flowing branches
into a sleep
in which I am rocked back and forth
in this winters wind,
and the snow falls on me
to make me feel
like a child again.

I am amazed at this simple beauty
of the forest Angels dancing
in the snow,
of purity and uncorrupted futures
of what lies ahead.

And I feel my faith begin to grow
as all the bad is washed away
by this gentle snow.
I find my solitude at last
and it is in this warm winters bath
escaping summer dirt
and bringing me to a rebirth.

Alive at last for this brisk cold air
has filled my lungs with life again.
